about

I'm focusing on composing right now, and part of that process was I wanted to revisit how I constructed the beat for "You Lost Me There."
I went through all of the versions I could find and I found this potentially interesting recording of the first idea of the song that i had.
If you have dove into a lot of the behind the scenes content on this website and also in other interviews over the years, you may have heard me say that I more or less "free style" my lyrics, and then clean them up afterwards. Its kind of the first thing that comes through my mouth as I'm hearing/playing the song for the first time (if im lucky to come up with something on the first pass). This is an example of what that sounds like. Its almost like the final version, but at this point its just stuff I'm saying I'm not focused on if it exactly makes sense yet. Also this sounds like such sh*t compared to the final version I thought it might be inspirational to someone to see how basic the beginnings are.
